About us

At Taxitec Oy, we develop advanced taximeter solutions for Finnish taxi companies that adapt to the continuous changes in the taxi industry and support the development of our customers' businesses.

We represent and import Cabman MDT taximeters and myPOS payment terminals , acting as the official Finnish technical support for both Cabman and myPOS. We have been working in close cooperation with the Dutch taximeter manufacturer Cabman since 2021.

We chose Cabman MDT taximeters because their system provides the most versatile reporting features as well as real-time fleet map tracking, which make it easy to monitor and develop business operations. The system is also ideally suited for taxi companies of all sizes and supports business growth.

Finnish support and warehouse

Taxitec employs a six-person support teamresponsible for Finnish-language customer service, sales, and technical support. Our support team also assists customers with device setup and manages service contracts.

Taxitec Oy is run by entrepreneur Timo Lyytinen, who brings several decades of taxi industry expertise through his ownership of Titec Oy, a company specialized in taxi equipment and installations.

Taxitec's office and warehouse are located in Kuopio, which enables fast availability of devices throughout Finland. Every product is inspected by us upon import to ensure the high quality of our equipment. Having a domestic warehouse also facilitates the handling of potential warranty issues, allowing them to be processed smoothly without unnecessary delays.

Large network of authorized dealers and installers

Taxitec has several authorized dealers and installation workshops for Cabman MDT taximeters across Finland. The network is constantly expanding so that we can offer our customers as comprehensive and flexible a service locally as possible.

We train and familiarize all authorized dealers and installation workshops with the use and installation of the Cabman MDT taximeter. To maintain and update expertise, we also offer refresher training courses for dealers and installation workshops.

Continuous development with the manufacturer and other partners

Taxitec's support team participates in weekly development meetings with the taximeter manufacturer, where we plan new features and develop existing functionalities based on feedback received from our customers. In the Netherlands, Cabman's product development is managed by a team of approximately 60 people.

We also work in close cooperation with other taxi service providers. We develop and implement taximeter integrations with dispatch systems such as Movit and Autocabin, among others.

All Cabman MDT software updates are installed remotely on the taximeters without requiring a visit to an installation shop, which facilitates the implementation of new features and updates.

We regularly visit the taximeter manufacturer in the Netherlands to monitor development work, get acquainted with new components, and see how our development ideas progress into practical implementation. Cabman experts also regularly visit Finland to meet our customers, observe taximeter usage in various operating environments, and conduct data connection measurements. Through these measurements, data connections can be developed and optimized to function as reliably as possible throughout Finland, including sparsely populated areas.

We also actively monitor the development of the taxi industry and participate in industry events in Finland and across Europe to stay informed about sector trends and anticipate future needs. Our goal is to convey feedback received from taxi companies as directly as possible into product development, ensuring our solutions serve taxi entrepreneurs as effectively as possible in practice. We also want to ensure that our customers always receive the help they need quickly and easily from our own Finnish customer service.

Many of Finland's largest taxi companies have already chosen Cabman's taximeter systems for their operations.
